Why we are building this church

The vision for Cyprus’s largest church.

The new Church of Christ the Good Shepherd in Episkopi is being built through the care and generosity of our community. Our aim is to complete a place of worship where we can gather for the Divine Liturgy, the sacraments and the important moments of our lives.

The ground floor is planned as a space for youth activities, events, theatre performances and seminars—a place where young people can meet, learn and create.

From the dome
to the first Divine Liturgy.

Each stage brings us closer to completing the church. These are the works planned for the coming years.

    We are raising the funds needed to build the dome, at a cost of €800,000.

    Construction of the roof, the next major stage after the dome.

  3. External works

    Work around the church building will continue towards its completion.

  4. The first Divine Liturgy inside the church

    Year 3

    Our goal is to worship inside, even before the iconostasis and other interior fittings are complete.

  5. Completion of the church

    Year 4

    The church will be ready for worship and the needs of the community.

The timing of each stage depends on available funding and the progress of the works.
